The Jasper Point (English for Jaspisspitze is) a headland of King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located on the southeast side of the Fildes Peninsula and marks the entrance to Norma Cove to the northeast .
The British Antarctic Survey carried out geological surveys here between 1975 and 1976. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the headland in 1978 after the veins of red and green jasper found in cliffs of black and yellow-brown rock.
