Military Technical Messenger ( Military Technical Courier / Vojnotehnički glasnik ) is a multidisciplinary scientific journal of Defense and the Army of Serbia.

About the magazine

The Military Technical Messenger publishes scientific and technical articles, as well as technical information about modern weapon systems and military technologies. The journal pursues the uniform cross-armed forces technical support of the army on the principle of logistical system support, then the areas of basic, applied and development research, as well as the manufacture and use of armament and equipment and other theoretical and practical achievements, which the further training of members of the Ministry of Defense and the armed forces of Serbia contribute.

The military technical messenger magazine offers the possibility of free access to the content (OPEN ACCESS).

history

Beginning

The first print edition of the military technical messenger took place on January 1, 1953. The magazine military technical messenger was preceded by five magazines of the arms and services - “Der Artilleriebote”, “Der Panzerbote”, “Der Militär-Pionierbote”, “The messenger of the telecommunications genus of the Yugoslavs Army ”and“ Logistics and Supply of the Yugoslav Army ”. These magazines were published from 1947 to the end of 1952, when the order was given to publish the magazine Militärtechnischer Bote. In contrast to the magazines of the branches of arms and services, the military technical messenger initially appeared as a monthly magazine, with around 1000 pages a year.

First 20 years

The following categories were available: technology, technical service, pioneer technology, telecommunications technology, traffic, teaching, organization and logistics service, supply, medical service, veterinary service ... A separate unit in the magazine was made up of scientific and technical news and interesting items, as well as the contributions of the foreign armed forces. The magazine Militärtechnischer Bote published the article Military Economic Overview from 1953 to 1956, in which articles in the field of utility and financial services were published. Military-economic overview becomes an independent journal in 1957. Subsequently, the Military Economic Survey was published as an independent journal from 1957 to 1979, and finally it appeared from 1980 to 1992 under a changed name, Background.

1960s and 1970s

In the period from 1958 to 1973, the military technical messenger adapted to changes in the army, the branches of the armed forces, branches of service and services. In this way, new categories were created that covered different areas, such as: geodesy, engine technology, ammunition, general overhaul, fuel, rocket technology, codification, protective agents, rust protection, fire protection agents, technical development, equipment, explosives, etc. Often, supplements appear to the magazine that relate to different specialist areas.

Anniversaries

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of its founding, the Military Technical Messenger was awarded the Order of Military Merit with a big star for extraordinary results in the performance of the tasks of the SFRY President No. 157 of December 12, 1977 has achieved particular importance for national defense. The fiftieth anniversary was celebrated in 2002. Up to that point in time, 415 issues had been published on 42,400 pages with 4,800 published scientific and specialist papers. In addition, 2,840 images from foreign magazines and 3,780 technical news and interesting information were published. On the occasion of this anniversary, the President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia passed the decree on the award (No. 1 / 2-01-0004 / 2002-38, dated November 4, 2002) with which the Military Technical Messenger was awarded the Order of the Armed Forces of Yugoslavia of the Third Degree for the contribution in technical and scientific modernization of the armed forces of Yugoslavia.

According to the opinion of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Development of the Republic of Serbia, No. 413-00-1201 / 2001-01 of September 12, 2001, the Military Technical Messenger is a publication of particular interest to science. The first electronic one Edition of the magazine military technical messenger on the Internet was published on January 1st, 2011. On the occasion of the 60 years since its founding and uninterrupted and regular publication, the military technical messenger was awarded a military commemorative medal by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia for its extraordinary contribution to the defense system of the Republic of Serbia by order of the Minister of Defense No. 12-15 of August 8, 2012.
