A mine clearer is generally a profession whose task is to defuse land mines that have remained in the ground from military conflicts in order to rule out any further danger to humans or animals.
Often small minesweepers and clearing boats are also referred to as "mine clearing boats" or "mine clearers". See also anti-mine vehicle .
In addition to manual disarming and the search at sea, armored vehicles are also used on land to clear areas. For example, the German Bundeswehr uses the Keiler mine clearance tank .
