Ministry of Religious Foundations and Islamic Affairs (Kuwait)

The Ministry of Religious Foundations and Islamic Affairs ( Arabic وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية, DMG Wizārat al- Auqāf wa-š-šuʾūn al-islāmīya ) represents Kuwait's religious bodies. Its minister is Muhammad al-Jabri.

Within the country, the ministry looks after the numerous state mosques and imams and employs chatibs (preachers) and muezzins (criminals for prayer). It also helps and advises citizens on both personal and legal issues.

Internationally, the ministry helps Islamic centers, schools and institutes around the world through financial and other means.

It also organizes the Hajj pilgrimage of the Kuwaitis to Mecca and organizes appeals for donations. It also prints and sells books and brochures on Islam and organizes lectures in collaboration with other organizations in Kuwait.

It is the editor of an encyclopedia of Islamic law , a reference work on Islamic law .
