Minnesota Correctional Facility - Stillwater

The Minnesota Correction Facility - Stillwater (MCF-STW) is a state prison in the US state of Minnesota .

It was built in 1914 and is located in Bayport, Washington County . It houses 1,600 prisoners in seven different areas. In one area there are prison economies, training programs and arts education for prisoners. The prison has been renovated and renewed several times during its history. In 2008, three prisoners tried to escape through a tunnel, which was prevented.

The prison is mentioned in the movie Fargo . Frank Elli, author of The Riot, was a famous inmate.
