Minuscule ( French Minuscule - La Vie privée des insectes , German about tiny - The private life of insects ) is a French animation series from 2006.
content
The animation series consists of a mixture of nature shots, mostly the background, and 3D animations. The action revolves around the daily life of insects and other small animals. The series completely dispenses with language. The simple actions are underlined by gestures or melodies. Noises from airplanes, helicopters or motorcycles are often highlighted, especially during fast flights and when insects crash.
Production and publication
The series, consisting of 78 episodes of four to six minutes each, was developed by Hélène Giraud and Thomas Szabo , who also directed, and produced by Futurikon . The episodes have been broadcast since October 18, 2006 as part of France 2's KD2A program. In 2007 Arcades Video released four DVDs in France. Four DVDs were also released in Germany in 2010. In 2012, all 78 episodes were released on two DVDs on the German market.

On January 14, 2016, the film based on the series, Die Winzlinge - Operation Sugar Bowl, was released in German cinemas. The DVD of the same name was released on May 14, 2016. On February 21, 2019, the film sequel Die Winzlinge - Abenteuer in der Karibik was released in German cinemas.
