Mixed price
When mixed prices to prices referred to themselves as average of different underlying prices arise. As with the mixing cost , the ingredients are common
- Prices that occur regardless of usage (e.g. a fixed price per month), and
- Prices that depend on usage.
Further mixed prices arise, for example, when determining the prices of a good that was purchased in different quantities and prices.
A mixed price can also be used to charge customers the same price for a product despite different boundary conditions. For example, a company can charge the customer the same gross price despite different VAT rates on a product (e.g. consumption inside or outside a restaurant).
example
A telephone connection costs 10 euros per month. In one month, various phone calls with a total duration of 100 minutes will cost a further 10 euros. The mixed price per minute is then EUR 0.20 per minute.
