Misery Beach is a sandy beach in the south of the Australian state of Western Australia . It is located at Frenchman Bay .
The beach is 260 meters long and up to 40 meters wide. It opens to the north. The beach can be reached via a few footpaths that lead down to the beach.
Misery Beach is not guarded by lifeguards .
Name and story
To the west of the beach is a whaling station, the Cheyne Beach Whaling Station . When this was still in operation, the beach was always covered with the blood of the slaughtered whales, hence the name.
