The Mitsubishi A7M Reppu (Hurricane) was a Japanese carrier fighter that was planned as a successor to the Mitsubishi A6M during World War II and did not go into series production. The allied code name was Sam .

development

The first flight of an unmanned prototype took place on May 6, 1944. The first of the seven planned test vehicles A7M2 had its maiden flight on October 13, 1944 and reached 630 km / h.

The air raids by the Allies then finally prevented the start of production, so that there were only eight copies.
