Average agricultural location mapping of the GDR

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The medium-scale agricultural location mapping (MMK) is a general location-based basic map covering the area of the former GDR . The MMK only includes agricultural land , no forests and settlements. The results of the MMK are available through the following cards:

  • Colored location overview map 1: 100,000
  • Contour map 1: 100,000
  • Work card 1: 25,000

Using the work card and the corresponding documentation sheets, statements can be made about natural, site-specific conditions. The survey of the MMK was carried out according to the guidelines for MMK by Schmidt & Diemann from 1974. The breakdown of the arable sites was carried out by Schilling et al. (1965) based on natural site units (NStE) and served as the basis for further evaluations, including the MMK.

Digital data from MMK was included in the newer soil concept map (BKkonz) on a scale of 1: 25,000.
