Moalach

Moalach is a syrupy food that is used as a spread or to sweeten food. It is obtained by boiling down young fir shoots with the addition of sugar and tastes similar to honey , but has clear fir aromas. A similar product is fir or spruce syrup. Also related, but made from honey instead of sugar, is top honey . Moalach is produced in Austria, for example in the Zillertal.
