Mobidat is an Internet portal for people with and without disabilities that has been recognized by Aktion Mensch . It contains free and multilingual information on the accessibility of facilities open to the public in Berlin .

history

Mobidat was founded on May 9, 2003 by the Albatros e. V. started as a database project for wheelchair users and has been operated since January 1, 2010 by the Albatros non-profit company for social and health services mbH . Since 1992 the Movado e. V. Data on the accessibility of public and private facilities in the Berlin districts recorded, updated by mid-March 2002 and made available to Mobidat .

Content and goals

Based on the motto "Barrier-free life in Berlin", a multilingual information system should be permanently available for wheelchair users, the hearing impaired, the visually impaired and people with learning disabilities. The target group is expanded through cooperation with other projects and websites (for example “Help Guide” and “All-round Age”). In addition, Mobidat provides information about events, announcements, press news, barrier-free living and the Berlin districts with their disability officers.

Data acquisition and editing

The data is recorded using standardized data collection forms, which are filled out by volunteers on site and entered (by the editorial team) in a database . The editorial team includes volunteers and employees from funded measures.

Cooperations

The cooperation partners include the State Commissioner for People with Disabilities of the State of Berlin, the District Commissioner for People with Disabilities of the Federal Employment Agency and the Berliner Servicegesellschaft gsub mbH.

Awards

In 2009, the website won a Silver BEE in the category “Simple research and service offers ” as one of the best German-language barrier - free websites .
