Mobile Station Roaming Number

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mobile Station Roaming Number or Mobile Subscriber Roaming Number ( MSRN ) is a number for identifying a mobile station (MS).

properties

For each MS, an MSRN is stored in the Home Location Register (HLR) and a copy of it is stored in the Visitor Location Register (VLR) . The MSRN has the following four parts: Visitor Country Code (VCC), Visitor National Destination Code (VNDC), Visitor Mobile Switching Center (VMSC) and Visitor Subscriber Number (VSN).

The MSRN remains upright during a conversation for the time that the MS spends in the effective area of this VLR.

This makes it possible to find the subscriber in foreign networks when roaming .
