Mohammad asch-Schalhub ( Arabic محمد الشلهوب, DMG Muḥammad aš-Šalhūb , after the English transcription Mohammad Al-Shlhoub ; * December 8, 1980 in Mecca ) is a Saudi Arabian soccer player .

Career

asch-Schalhub is a goal-scoring center forward with playmaker qualities and has been playing for the top club al-Hilal in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh since 1998 . There he was three times national champion and four times cup winner and in 2000 they even won the Asian club championship, the Asian Champions' Cup .

National team

At the age of 19 he made his debut in the Saudi Arabian national team in 2000 . And already in his first tournament, the 2000 Asian Cup, he made a name for himself with three goals in the game against Uzbekistan. Since then he has been used regularly in important tournaments for his country. After 2002, he took part in the 2006 World Cup in Germany for the second time in a World Cup for Saudi Arabia .

At 1.63 m tall, he was the smallest World Cup participant of all countries in 2002.
