Moir of Leckie's House
Moir of Leckie's House is a residential building in the Scottish city of Stirling in the council area of the same name . In 1965 the building was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.
history
In 1658, David Moir of Craigarnhall , a member of the regionally influential Moir family, acquired the property. Moir of Leckie's House probably dates from this period in the middle of the 17th century. The Venetian windows were not used until the early 18th century. A restoration of the building was completed in 1958.
description
The building is off Bow Street behind Darnley's House . The three-story building has an L-shaped floor plan. Its facades are plastered with Harl , with natural stone details set off. Its arched windows are designed with keystones . Venetian windows are let into the east-facing main facade. The dormers emerging from the slate-covered roofs usually close with hips .
