Moisés Jinich

Moisés Jinich (* in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player in the position of winger . He is the only Jew who has ever participated in a World Cup for the Mexican national team . His only international appearance was on January 10, 1954 in a World Cup qualifier against the USA, which was won 4-0.

Life

Moisés Jinich Bruk was under contract during his professional career with the clubs Atlante and Necaxa , which were still based in the capital at the time, and were considered bitter rivals of capital city football during the amateur era in the 1930s and early 1940s . In addition, Jinich still played on an amateur basis in the 1948 introduced Liga Interclubes and was a member of the disciplinary committee of the Mexican Football Association .

After finishing his active career, Jinich worked as a surgeon at the National Autonomous University of Mexico . Today, almost ninety-year-old Jinich lives in Mérida , Yucatán .
