Molière dramaturge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Molière dramaturge is an essayistic text by the French author Jacques Audiberti from 1954. The first edition was published in 1954 by the Paris publisher L'arche as the first title in a series of Collection. Les Grands Dramaturges . In 1972 the publisher published the second edition.

content

Based on the festival Les plaisirs de l'île enchantée (1664) and the play La Princesse d'Elide, which premiered at the same time, Jacques Audiberti initially describes aspects of theater history with regard to theatricality under Louis XIV and the work of Molière. In his essay he sketches a picture by Jean-Baptiste Poquelin that connects him on several levels with personalities of the 20th century such as Charlie Chaplin and Eduardo De Filippo . He classifies Molière as an écrivant, a scribe and in no way as a writer. Writing pieces is therefore only a means to an end to be able to perform a piece.
