The Momentive Performance Materials Inc. is a chemical company with headquarters in Waterford, upstate New York. The company is the world's second largest manufacturer of silicone and silicone derivatives and one of the world's leading manufacturers and developers of quartz and special ceramics . The group operates 24 production sites in Europe, America and Asia and sells its products worldwide. In Germany, Momentive is based in Geesthacht and Leverkusen .

Momentive is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of MPM Holdings Inc. It emerged in December 2006 from the sale of GE Advanced Materials and its joint ventures GE Bayer Silicones and GE Toshiba Silicones to Apollo Management . Chief Executive Officer and President is Jack Boss. The company has approximately 5,000 employees and had 2017 sales of $ 2.3 billion and net income of $ 293 million.

Momentive silicone materials are used in various industries such as automotive, electronics, personal care, baking molds, consumer goods, aerospace and construction. The company also produces raw materials such as siloxane polymers and various additives, including silanes, specialty fluids and urethane additives.

Momentive also produces, sells and distributes high-purity quartz and ceramic materials. These materials are used, among other things, in the manufacture of semiconductors, in lighting technology and in the entertainment industry.
