Monimolimnion

As monimolimnion is called in the physical limnology the deepwater area in meromictic lakes that is not in the years cyclic mixing is included. As a rule, the monimolimnion is free of oxygen and enriched with reduced, mostly salty, degradation products from biomass . This increases its density, which in the further course represents an increasing obstacle to mixing with the mixolimnion above .
