Yorozuhatahime

Yorozuhatahime or Yorozuhata Toyoakitsushihime no mikoto ( jap. ヨロズハタ〔トヨアキツシ〕ヒメ , Kojiki : 万幡豊秋津師比売命; Nihonshoki : 万幡豊秋津媛命,万幡姫 ; Karl Florence translated "myriads looms Lush Dragonflies -Island-Princess ") is in the mythology of Shinto a daughter of Takamimusubi , wife of Ame-no-oshi-ho-mimi (with whom she was married according to an alternative version of Nihonshoki by Amaterasu ) and mother of Ninigi .

In the different versions of the mythological original texts, the title and name of Yorozuhatahime are not clear, there are many different versions ( see below ). But all of them relate in some way to clothing, weaving, or rich crops. In a Nihonshoki version, the confusion about her identity and position reaches so far that she marries Ninigi and with him he begets Ninigi herself.

She is only of particular importance because of her position as a family link between Takamimusubi and Amaterasu, which makes her one of the ancestors of the Japanese imperial family . It is hardly mentioned in the mythological texts. Nevertheless, she is revered as a kami , e.g. B. in Okayama Ise-jinja. In Ise-jingū she has the honor of sharing the naikū with Amaterasu himself.
