Monobloco
Monobloco is a Brazilian bloco or street band founded in 2000 in Rio de Janeiro by Celso Alvim, Mário Moura, Sidon Silva, CA Ferrari and Pedro Luís (members of the Pedro Luís ea Parede group). In addition to the samba rhythms typical of Blocos, the group has also adapted other typical Brazilian rhythms, such as Coco, Ciranda, Marcha, Xote, Samba-charme and especially Samba-Rock and Funk. Over the years the popularity of the group grew and at the same time the popularity of Brazilian music and the carnival .
The name Monobloco stands on the one hand for the Bloco, which was created through a learning project, and on the other hand for Monobloco Show, a professional band that is continuously on the move within Brazil and internationally with a show program. Monobloco Show toured the UK in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and also gave concerts in Portugal, Denmark, Australia and New Zealand.
