Monogenic inheritance
In the case of a monogenic or “simple” inheritance , only one gene is responsible for the expression of the trait. What matters is whether the gene is on an autosome or a gonosome .
This inheritance has already been described by Mendel , a monogenic inheritance follows the Mendelian rules (if the affected gene is on an autosome).
