Monstrance (heraldry)

The monstrance is a common figure in heraldry and is represented splendidly but not uniformly in the coat of arms . This heraldic figure is primarily found in church heraldry , for example in the coats of arms of bishops .

The blazon should adequately describe the liturgical device in terms of type (tower, altar retable or lantern monstrance, disc monstrance, sun or radiation monstrance) and shape. The foot, the shaft and the attachment, which are predominantly placed in the gold tinge in the coat of arms, are clearly outlined. The monstrance can be enhanced with a halo, a cross , a halo or a precious stone .
