Montevideo unit

In medicine, the Montevideo unit is a measure of the labor activity of the uterus .

To do this, the number of contractions in 10 minutes is determined and multiplied by the increase in pressure in the amniotic sac ( amnion ) in mmHg. The upper limit for normal activity during the first 35 weeks of pregnancy is 20 units.
