Monumental clock

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Monumental clocks are clocks with a remarkable architectural integration in prominent places in large rooms, churches, town halls etc. Outstanding pieces are, for example, the tower clock (s) on the Freiburg Minster or the Strasbourg Minster as well as the New Town Hall (Munich)

They are often endowed with many technical, astronomical and astrological functions and figures.
