Mortier 81 LLR

The Mortier 81 mm LLR is an 81 mm caliber mortar used by the French army . The current version has been produced by the French armaments company TDA Armements since 1997 .

Its official name is: "  Mortier de 81mm long renforcé modèle F1  " (Mon 81 LLR F1). The mortar group (groupe mortier) in each of the fourth platoons of the infantry companies wields two mortars. The Véhicule de l'avant blindé VAB mortier serves as the towing vehicle

Three different versions have been produced since 1961:

  • Mortier 81mm LC (Léger court), with a tube length of 1.15 m;
  • Mortier 81mm LL (Léger long), with a pipe length of 1.55 m;
  • Mortier 81mm LLR (Léger long renforcé), version for the parachute troops with a tube length of 1.55 m.
