Morville (Belgium)

Morville ( Walloon Marveye ) is a village in the Belgian municipality of Florennes in the province of Namur in the Walloon Region .

623 inhabitants live in the village (as of 2007). The district covers an area of ​​14.56 km².

history

Traces of settlement in Morville go back to the time of the Roman Empire . Today's Saint Alexandre Church in the town was built in 1892 in neo-Romanesque style. During the First World War , Morville was sacked and burned by German troops. Morville was an independent municipality until 1977 and was then attached to the municipality of Florennes as part of a municipal reform.
