The Moscow Apostolar is a book printing that appeared in Moscow in 1564 . It is the first precisely datable printed book in the Russian Empire . It consists of 534 pages (267 sheets) in the format 28 × 18 cm with 25 lines each. The apostolar contains the text of the Acts of the Apostles and the letters of the New Testament , plus a menologion and an afterword by the printer Ivan Fyodorov . On the first page the evangelist Luke is shown in an engraving. There are ornamental decorations and initials .

Today there are around 65 copies worldwide (46 in Russia).
