Moskovskaya

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moskovskaya is a vodka brand in Germany and other countries, produced in Russia and bottled in Riga (Latvia). The name means "coming from Moscow".

The general importer for Germany is the company Simex (also for Krimsekt ) based in Jülich . According to the importer, it should be the best-selling Russian vodka in Germany with around 6,000,000 bottles sold. In contrast to most of the other vodka brands customary in Germany, the product is sold in 0.5 instead of 0.7 liter bottles as standard, as this is the usual filling quantity in the countries of origin of the vodka.

In the 1980s Simex was the "general agency for the Federal Republic of Germany" and the label on the bottle still had the designation "Imported from the USSR " or "Manufactured and bottled in the USSR for V / O Sojuzplodoimport Moscow".

The origin of the Moskovskaya brand dates back to 1894. Moskovskaya was the first registered Russian vodka brand to follow the Russian state guidelines that Dmitri Mendeleev had set on behalf of the tsar to ensure the quality of Russian vodka.
