Mother Tongue is the annual comprehensive journal of the Association for the Study of Languages ​​in Prehistory (ASLIP for short). It has been published by ASLIP since 1995 and contains linguistic articles with a focus on genetic language comparison and macro families . Its first editor and President of ASLIP was Harold C. Fleming, the last Journal XXI to date was published under the direction of John D. Bengtson in 2016. ASLIP President is currently Michael Witzel .
