The Mount Desert Iceland Biological Laboratory (MDIBL) in Salsbury Cove , Maine, USA, is an independent nonprofit biomedical research institution in 1898 on Mount Desert Iceland was founded and is operated in the physiological with marine organisms and pharmacological research.

Its task is to promote human health through basic research and the training of young scientists. In 2013 the laboratory was named a Center for Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) by the National Institutes of Health , USA, with a 5-year grant of US $ 13 million.
