Muay Thai Boran (in Thai : มวยไทย โบราณ , sometimes transliterated as Muay Thai Buran ) is the classic Thai boxing fight, the traditional form of Muay Thai ; here means borane ( โบราณ ) "traditional", "old" (word borrowing from the Pali -Language).

Muay Thai Boran is a very complex traditional martial art, which not only includes fighting with different weapons, but also movements that go far beyond the unarmed techniques of today's Muay Thai .

Krabi Krabong (short and long weapon) refers to fighting with different weapons, such as Krabi (saber), Daab (sword), Plong or Sri Sock (stick), Ngauw (stick with a short sword attachment ), Dung , Kaen , Mai Sun and Loh (shield).

Another feature of this classic Thai boxing match is the ritual dance ( Wai Khru Ram Muay , Thai : ไหว้ครู รำ มวย ) that the fighters perform at the beginning of a fight to show respect for their teachers, as well as the classical Thai music that accompanies the entire fight .

This martial art is vividly depicted in the films Ong-Bak , Ong-bak 2 , Ong-Bak 3 , Revenge of the Warrior and Return of the Warrior , all with Tony Jaa .
