Muhammed Taher Pasha

Muhammed Taher Pascha (* 1879, † 1970) was an Egyptian doctor and the founder of the Mediterranean Games .

He was chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Egypt and a member of the IOC from 1952 to 1957. In 1948 he proposed to the Mediterranean countries to organize their own sporting competition, similar to the Olympic Games . The first Mediterranean Games took place in 1951.
