Muirchu maccu Machtheni
Muirchú maccu Machtheni was a 7th century Irish monk and scribe. He wrote “The Life of Saint Patrick of Ireland ”, Vita sancti Patricii , which is the earliest surviving vita about the saint. A copy of this vita can be found in the famous Book of Armagh ( Trinity College Library, Dublin, MS 52).
