Multi-professionalism

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In multi-professionalism is the cooperation of different professional groups. In Germany, there is coordinated cooperation between the health professions . With the development of mutual understanding and clear delimitation of responsibilities, the available resources can be used optimally . The collaboration can take place through personal relationships, in a team or in projects.

It can be assumed that synergy effects , different perspectives and the expansion of competencies resulting from the cooperation will lead to professionalization. The challenge in day-to-day work is to unite those involved in one field of activity, as they are usually not aware that the various professionalism concepts of the different professional groups are the basis. The multi-professionalism should enable a practical realization of holistic thinking .

In the area of sectoral multi-professional cooperation, it is criticized that, in the absence of suitable conditions, an addition can often only be implemented in emergency situations . Multiprofessionalism does not mean that one person combines the specialist knowledge of the professional groups.
