Musenalp Express

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Musenalp-Express was a Swiss youth magazine that was widely distributed and recognized in German-speaking Switzerland between 1976 and 1990 . A comeback was announced in 2005, and the magazine would appear four times a year. But it remained with three issues.

History of the magazine

Originally, the founder, Othmar Beerli, wanted to offer young students and apprentices coveted items, especially consumer electronics, on a flyer at a low price with his Junior Discount Service . Then he came up with the idea of publishing self-written texts by young people on it. This is how the first Musenalp Express was created in 1976 .

The successful concept of the magazine was that young readers could publish their own articles (poems, short stories, reader photos, travel reports, diaries, interviews and reports) and at the same time order from a mail order catalog. The magazine was free and was soon published in many school buildings, libraries, etc.

From 1988 the magazine was also distributed free of charge in the Federal Republic of Germany via the 17,500 post offices of the Deutsche Bundespost at the time .
