The Museo Polifacético Rocsen is a private museum in the Argentine province of Córdoba , located about 5 km outside the town of Nono and 12 km from Mina Clavero . The founder and owner of the museum, which opened on January 6, 1969, is the Breton immigrant Juan Santiago Bouchon. More than 20,000 exhibits are shown on an area of ​​1530 m².

Bouchon describes the goal of his museum with the words " Deseo que en mi museo se encuentre todo el hombre para todos los hombres " ( Juan Santiago Bouchon , German: "I wish that the whole person can be found for everyone in my museum") .

Museo Rocsen: exhibition

In 1969 the museum started as a collection of butterflies and various curiosities and with an exhibition area of ​​100 m². The collection grew over the years to well over 20,000 exhibits; according to the inventory from 2003, the museum then comprised 22,305 exhibits. These are thematically arranged and encompass different areas of technology as well as human life, natural history , art and belief .

The museum is open from 9 a.m. to sunset, 365 days a year. The name of the museum, Rocsen , is derived from the words rocca (rock) and sacer (holy) and originally referred to a family property of Bouchons' that was lost in World War II .

building

The facade of the museum building is adorned by 49 (7 × 7) statues in niches, which are supposed to represent the history of thought, to be a symbol of pacifism and humanism and were created by Bouchon himself. The covered exhibition area is 1530 m².
