Museo de Arte de El Salvador

Museo de Arte de El Salvador (short: MARTE) is an art museum in El Salvador . It is located at the end of Avenida La Revolución in the city of San Salvador , between Teatro Presidente and the Sheraton Presidente Hotel.

The art museum opened on May 22, 2003. It is a private, non-profit organization whose operation is the responsibility of the Association Asociación Museo de Arte de El Salvador (short: MARTE). The Asociación was created for this purpose, whose legal status was published by the Executive with Decree No. 338 in the Official Gazette of May 6, 2000.

The collection consists mainly of works by well-known Salvadoran artists. To date around 280 works of art are on permanent display. In addition, temporary exhibitions are shown.

The Asociación MARTE also maintains other museums and art-related institutions such as:
