Museo de Semana Santa

The Museo de Semana Santa (German Museum of the Holy Week ) in Zamora , the capital of the province of the same name in the autonomous region of Castile-León in Spain , was founded in 1964 by the Junta Pro Semana Santa . In 1994 the new building was opened on the Plaza de Santa María la Nueva with an exhibition area of ​​900 m².

The museum, dedicated to the celebration of Semana Santa in the city of Zamora, shows the course of Holy Week using original objects from the brotherhoods ( Hermandades in Spanish ) . A total of 37 groups of figures can be seen.
