Museu Casa Rull is an ethnology museum in the Principality of Andorra . The museum in La Massana shows the facilities, way of life, work in agriculture and the family structure of one of the richest Andorran families from the 18th to the early 20th centuries.

history

The residence Casa Rull de Sispony was built by one of the most influential families in the village of Sispony in the parish of La Massana in 1723. Casa Rull was permanently inhabited until 1920. However, it has undergone several renovations throughout history. The house was badly damaged by fire in the 19th century and then rebuilt and opened as a museum by the last owner of the Perich family in 2000. Shortly thereafter, the property became the property of the Andorran government and was listed as a historical monument.

description

The main facade made of layered natural stone , partly plastered later, faces south. The attic part is unplastered. The roof, covered with slate , is V-shaped. On the first floor there is the kitchen with a brick oven, the living rooms and bedrooms. The basement contains a wine cellar and storage rooms for meat and other groceries. In the northeast there is a garden which is accessible from the house. Above the arched entrance portal there are two so-called French windows, which are described as a balcony door without a balcony, as it was constructed like a door with a railing attached directly in front of the opening. All lattice windows with hand-blown window panes and the wooden doors were provided with a layer of wooden beams.
