The Muzeum Wojsk Lądowych ( German : Army Museum ) based in Bydgoszcz is the only Polish museum of the land forces.
History of the museum
The museum maintains the tradition of the military museum established in Bydgoszcz in 1928. In 1973 the Traditional Museum of the Pomeranian Military District was established in Bydgoszcz , which was renamed Pomorskie Muzeum Wojskowe (Pomeranian Military Museum) in 2003 and converted into a state institution under its current name in 2010. The museum has branches in Toruń (artillery and missile forces) and Wrocław (pioneers).
Exhibitions
The museum is primarily concerned with the military history of Pomerania and Kuyavia . Other exhibitions deal with the Poznan Uprising , the Bydgoszcz garrison 1920–1939, the Polish resistance in World War II and the Polish armed forces in World War II.
