As a historical museum, a war museum deals with the history of warfare , mostly with specific regional or historical references ( military history museum ), or individual wars or battles ( war museum in the sense ).

Military museums deal primarily with military technology (as a technology museum ) or certain types of weapons (as a cultural and historical museum).
