The Beijing Military Museum , also the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution ( Chinese  中国 人民 革命 军事 博物馆 , Pinyin Zhōngguó rénmín gémìng jūnshì bówùguǎn ) is the largest and most important military museum in the People's Republic of China .

It became the tenth in the 1950s under the chief architect Zhang Kaiji in the style of Socialist Classicism ( “confectioner's style” ) typical of the time as one of the “ Ten Great Buildings ” (“十大 建筑”; Pinyin: Shí Dà Jiànzhù) Founding day of the People's Republic in 1959 in the Chinese capital and has been open to the public since August 1, 1960. The museum consists of two three-story wings and a seven-story central building on which the emblem of the Chinese People's Liberation Army sits enthroned. There are nine exhibition halls, a film screening room and two outdoor spaces. The museum is divided into eight sections and houses a total of around 130,000 exhibits, most of which date from the 20th century. The following topics will be shown: Northern Expedition , the Peasants' War , the War of Resistance Against Japan , National Liberation War , weapons collection , Early wars and modern wars . All kinds of weapons are on display, including tanks, anti-aircraft guns, Stalin organs and other items, from Mao's oil lamp during the Long March to the rocket of the same name . The museum is visited by over 30,000 people every day. It can be reached via the subway station of the same name and is located in the west of Beijing in the Haidian district at 9 Fuxing Street, in the south of Yuyuantan Park.
