The war museum in the northern Norwegian port city of Narvik ( Norwegian Narvik Krigsmuseum ) is dedicated to war and its consequences. Naturally, one focus is the period from 1940 to 1945, when Norway suffered under German occupation . As part of the Wehrmacht's Weser Exercise , Narvik was particularly hotly contested in the spring of 1940 .

Various original exhibits from the Second World War are shown, such as a German 7.5 cm mountain gun 36 (picture) and an Enigma key machine model M4 . There are also models, photos, films and sound documents. Explanations are in Norwegian and English given and using smartphone - Apps on German , French and Polish .

The museum is located in central Narvik at Kongensgate 39 and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is around 10 euros.
