Myson

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Myson of Chen ( Greek  Μύσων ὁ Χηνεύς ; also Chenai ), from Plato instead of Periandros in the list of seven sages added, appears at first only in an archaic fable on. The oracle of Delphi is said to have pointed to his wisdom.

The few narrations about Myson are: “Chilon went to the village of Chen to visit Myson. He found him straightening the plow in summer and said to him: "Oh Myson, this is not the season to plow!" «Indeed,» replied Myson, «but it is the best time to get the plow ready». (Freely translated: "Plan ahead!")
