Nøklevann is a lake in Østmarka in Oslo , Norway . Its area is 0.63 km². The lake is 163 meters above sea level. The water from the lake feeds the Ljanselva river .
At the end of the 18th century it was decided to use Nøklevann water as drinking water. Thus the lake was part of the drinking water supply until 1983. Then it was released for general use. Today the lake is still a reserve drinking water lake.
The area around Nøklevann is a popular hiking area for Oslo residents in both summer and winter. One reason for this is the proximity to the Ulsrud, Bøler and Bogerud underground stations.
