NBTY, Inc. (formerly Nature's Bounty, Inc. ) is an international US company that manufactures nutritional supplements and sells them both under its own name and through third-party companies.
The company was established in 1971 under the name Nature's Bounty as a subsidiary of Arco Pharmaceuticals, Inc. established. In 1980, NBTY took over Arco Pharmaceuticals, founded by Arthur Rudolph in 1960, and fully integrated it.
NBTY employs 13,760 people and sells around 22,000 products under various brand names in 80 countries. In 2008 the company had sales of $ 2.179 billion.
