NOHD ( English N ominal O cular H azard Distance , German  nominal eye-danger distance ) is a term from laser safety . In the case of divergent lasers , it denotes the distance at which the measured value is equal to the limit value, and thus indicates the danger area within which health damage to the eyes is to be feared when looking directly into the laser beam .
