NTV is the first news channel in Turkey . It was founded by Cavit Çağlar in 1996. NTV started its regular program in 1997. NTV has been a member of the Doğuş Holding media group since 1999 . The broadcaster's headquarters are located in the Şişli district of Istanbul . NTV also has national branches in İzmir, Ankara and Diyarbakır. The broadcaster's European headquarters are in Brussels.

The station's program mainly consists of news programs about business and reports with people from business life. On the weekends, sport is the main topic of the station, so the Spanish Primera Division is regularly followed.

Since March 23, 2013, NTV has directed 16: 9 widescreen format.

criticism

In 2013, around 2000 people protested in front of the Doğuş Power Center and accused the broadcaster of hiding the Gezi Park protests . The crowd chanted, “The media has sold out!” And called on the broadcaster to cover the protests and police violence.
