The NYPD Movie / TV Unit ( New York Police Department Film / TV Unit) is a unit that reports to the Mayor's Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting . Its aim is to ensure a safe environment for film teams and for the citizens of New York. The unit was founded in 1966 and has since appeared in numerous films.
